6 Months Old!

Wow! 6 Months ago York and I became parents. Davis is getting to be really active. He can now roll over at will, sit up with no help, has 2 teeth, and he finally reached for his mommy. We have really been looking forward to him reaching his arms out for us, so I hope he keeps it up.

2 nights in a row!

Sweet Dreams! Sweet Dreams! Wow! Davis is growing up. He slept all through the night 2 nights in a row! I can't believe it. It is quite funny in the morning though. York and I look at each other, ask if the other got up, and when the answer is no...We always get up real quick and check on him. I'm sure it is a fluke, but I'll take it when I can get it. He goes for his 4 month check up this week.

missing my family

Since school has started, I have been away from my two favorive poeple, York and Davis. It has been even worse now that volleyball has kicked off. I got home at 11 last night, so I never even seen Davis awake yesterday. It is really sad when that happens. I feel really bad for York, Davis has been teething and he has been really fussy lately. She has been soothing him really well though. I hope this teething thing ends sometime soon, the poor guy is hurting pretty badly. Four more weeks and volleyball will be over and I will be back with my family.

SLEEP AT LAST!

We’ve had a few new happenings lately! The good news is Davis has slept though the night twice now! Adam and I wake up in the morning running to check on him to make sure everything is ok. It’s wonderful to have a full night of sleep under our belts! On a different note Davis has started teething! Yikes I feel so bad for the little guy –he wants to put everything in his mouth now and the drool never ends!! He has also found his feet and they make wonderful pacifiers! He changes so much every day I just know I’m going to turn around and he is going to be all grown up!

In the Crib

Davis spent his first night in his crib on Friday night. York and I woke up way more when he was in the crib than when he was in our room. Those monitors pick up every little noise and makes it almost impossible to get any sleep. We will keep trying, but we aren't in a hurry to have him grow up.

He is loving his toys now. He grabs them and trys to put them in his mouth.

SMILES

Work

Well I've been back to work for two weeks now. So far it hasn't been to awful as Adam is still at home with Davis. However August 10th is Adam's first day back to school and Davis with go to Daycare in the mornings. I'm dreading the 10th but know it will be here soon!!!!!!!!!! I've been working half days from home and will continue to as long as it works with my employer. So far so go though - I'm able to come home and feed Davis and then put him down for his afternoon nap and be there when he wakes up - which I really like. Keep your fingers crossed for us that they continue to let me work from home!!!!!

2 years and counting!

My beautiful wife and I have been married for 2 years now. We had a perfect wedding. It feels like yesterday when I looked at her face coming down the isle. I can still feel butterflies thinking back on it.

I couldn't of been luckier in my life...so I thought. Then our little boy came in our life and he is as perfect as his mommy. Thank you to all of our friends and family that have shaped York and I into the people we are today.

Missiles from below!

While in Wyoming we were visiting "Me Ma" (Thonja). She was wanting some bonding time so we let her feed Davis with a bottle. The joy on her face was indescribable
While on feeding patrol Davis did his business in his diaper so Me Ma proceeded to change his diaper. Once off, Davis decided that he wasn't done and fired a missile at Me Ma! Over a foot, what a shooter! Let this be a warning to anyone changing a diaper....always wait for the second blast, you may be in for a missile of your own!

Davis the Traveler

Davis has become quite the traveler! We just returned from his first trip to Wyoming. He did great on the 14 hour drive only waking up to eat and stretch now and then. While we were in Wyoming of course we took a day trip to the mountains - Davis must have loved the mountain air as he snoozed most of the day! Hopefully he continues to like the car as he has many more trips to come.
He is growing up so fast. He is smiling now and starting to make sounds other than his nursing squeaks and grunts.

My wife the model

Who knew that York's ambitions would lead to modeling... My cousin Megan is finishing up her schooling, and needed a prospective girl to model her new look. York was asked and surprising to me, she said sure I would love to. Megan came by on Saturday and practiced on her before her big debeau on Monday. She said, "It is going to be a crazy look York" and boy oh boy was it crazy. Even more surprising was that York looked great with her more than generous amount of make up. Here is a picture of her. Megan did a great job and it was awesome to have her come and visit.

3 WEEKS

Davis will be three weeks old tomorrow. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. Most of Davis' days consist of sleeping and eating however we have had a few adventures. Trevor and his family have been here visiting for a few days and we've been trying to get use to outings with a little one. Davis had his first visit to the zoo, which must have been exhausting for him as he slept the entire time. This made the visit a lot easier on his Mom and Dad. Trevor and Amber and the boys seemed to enjoy themselves and the boys even got to ride a camel. We also went to watch Adam play ball. This outing was a little overwhelming for me as it was very hot. Therefore we didn't stay to long but the attempt was there. We also had one more major accomplishment this week... we went out to dinner!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets just say Davis handles these outings much better than his parents as he catches up on his sleep we fret the entire time!!!! He is growing and changing every day and six weeks I have before I have to go back to work are going to go by way to fast!

phantom baby

I was amazed how well Davis slept last night. Although his mommy scared me pretty good though. I woke up to hear Davis's slight whimper and York asked if I would put him in his bassinet. I walked over to her side of the bed reached out to York and tried to take Davis...Kept reaching...and reaching, I kept grabbing the biggest thing near York’s body, but apparently it was attached to her. York raises her voice and says "where is he". Davis started crying, and apparently he wasn't nursing at all...he was sleeping in his bassinet.

A WHOLE NEW WORLD

Well we've been home for several days now and its been amazing. I knew I'd love being a mom but didn't realize all the other emotions that would come with it. I have more love for this little guy than I knew possible! Can you say worry???? - OMG -I knew I worried before but now getting in the car and running a simple errand seems like I've accomplished such an enormous feat. I find my self jumping at every new sound he makes just to make sure he's ok! Shock - sometimes it seems so strange to think we made this sweet little thing! And of course I've completely over whelmed with joy as our little guy puts is stamp on our lives.

Wow is all I can really say my first 6 days of motherhood have been so wonderful I can only imagine where this new journey is going to take us.

I'm already finding so many things funny and unforgettable about Davis. Yesterday Jeannie came to visit and take a few pictures. The pictures were going so well and Davis was so calm we decided to try to put him in Adam's glove - but of course he needed to be naked. So there we are trying to have naked Davis curl up in his Dad's glove. Well you can only imagine - Davis wanted nothing to do with the glove and especially with him sitting in it so he decided to leave his signatures on his Dad's glove. Yep - he pooped and it wasn't a little poop it was a good one finding its way into every cranny of the glove!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time!!!!!!!!! Sorry daddy but Davis wanted to be a part of your pitching days!!!!!!! We love you!

At Last! At Last! Home at Last

Here we are...family of 3
no one knows how lucky we can be
A healthy little boy we now have in our arms
A little singing from dad is the charm
Mom has just what he needs
And dad changes him after he peed

Oh boy Oh boy
We love this guy
This amount of love you could never buy
For Daddy to hold and his love could never be told
He is our baby...this I know
Mommy and Daddy's love makes them glow

Due Wednesday

We are going into the hospital on Wednesday for York to have the baby, so please keep her in your thoughts. We are hoping he comes soon, maybe we will be lucky and she will go into labor tonight, that way she doesn't have to be induced.

Coming Soon

York had her weekly check up yesterday. I guess they told her that everything was looking good. She is now at a 2, which is good I guess. You should be hearing some news in the near future.

With every day coming closer, it seems like the baby will never come out. York and I are eager with anticipation as our you I suspect.

The latest that the doc will let her go is till the 19th. I sure hope he comes before then, we may be looking at a 10 pounder. YIKES!

Evil Stares

York and I went to another birthing class last night. It started off as usual, everyone introducing themselves, what they were having (boy or girl), and when they were due. We were lucky in the fact that we were skipped over and we didn't have to introduce ourselves. Then the instructor looked at a couple across the room and said, " Well, it looks like you are the winner. You are due June 5th right?" My competitive nature kicked in and of course I couldn't be outdone. I broke our unnoticed stature and said, "Actually, we are due in 6 days".
Then the women gave York a once over, and started glaring. Not because she was due in 6 days...
One man said... "My wife is mad at you."

York in her sweet voice said "Me? Why"

The guy responded, "Because my wife says you look like you are 6 months pregnant".

So, the moral of the story is... A Conard can't let anyone beat them at anything...and in my opinion...my wife is the most beautiful woman in the world.
love you honey.

Funny stuff

I thought I would share with you a funny conversation I overheard with York and our baby. Here is a recap...

Looking down at her bare tummy York says, "You are the size of a watermelon, not a basketball, not a soccer ball, but a HUGE WATERMELON!"
I thought it was really cute, she is so beautiful, but she is feeling really uncomfortable. You can really tell, especially since last night she told our baby..."ok, it is time for you to come out of there."
Another day closer...
