phantom baby

I was amazed how well Davis slept last night. Although his mommy scared me pretty good though. I woke up to hear Davis's slight whimper and York asked if I would put him in his bassinet. I walked over to her side of the bed reached out to York and tried to take Davis...Kept reaching...and reaching, I kept grabbing the biggest thing near York’s body, but apparently it was attached to her. York raises her voice and says "where is he". Davis started crying, and apparently he wasn't nursing at all...he was sleeping in his bassinet.

A WHOLE NEW WORLD

Well we've been home for several days now and its been amazing. I knew I'd love being a mom but didn't realize all the other emotions that would come with it. I have more love for this little guy than I knew possible! Can you say worry???? - OMG -I knew I worried before but now getting in the car and running a simple errand seems like I've accomplished such an enormous feat. I find my self jumping at every new sound he makes just to make sure he's ok! Shock - sometimes it seems so strange to think we made this sweet little thing! And of course I've completely over whelmed with joy as our little guy puts is stamp on our lives.

Wow is all I can really say my first 6 days of motherhood have been so wonderful I can only imagine where this new journey is going to take us.

I'm already finding so many things funny and unforgettable about Davis. Yesterday Jeannie came to visit and take a few pictures. The pictures were going so well and Davis was so calm we decided to try to put him in Adam's glove - but of course he needed to be naked. So there we are trying to have naked Davis curl up in his Dad's glove. Well you can only imagine - Davis wanted nothing to do with the glove and especially with him sitting in it so he decided to leave his signatures on his Dad's glove. Yep - he pooped and it wasn't a little poop it was a good one finding its way into every cranny of the glove!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time!!!!!!!!! Sorry daddy but Davis wanted to be a part of your pitching days!!!!!!! We love you!

At Last! At Last! Home at Last

Here we are...family of 3
no one knows how lucky we can be
A healthy little boy we now have in our arms
A little singing from dad is the charm
Mom has just what he needs
And dad changes him after he peed

Oh boy Oh boy
We love this guy
This amount of love you could never buy
For Daddy to hold and his love could never be told
He is our baby...this I know
Mommy and Daddy's love makes them glow

Due Wednesday

We are going into the hospital on Wednesday for York to have the baby, so please keep her in your thoughts. We are hoping he comes soon, maybe we will be lucky and she will go into labor tonight, that way she doesn't have to be induced.

Coming Soon

York had her weekly check up yesterday. I guess they told her that everything was looking good. She is now at a 2, which is good I guess. You should be hearing some news in the near future.

With every day coming closer, it seems like the baby will never come out. York and I are eager with anticipation as our you I suspect.

The latest that the doc will let her go is till the 19th. I sure hope he comes before then, we may be looking at a 10 pounder. YIKES!

Evil Stares

York and I went to another birthing class last night. It started off as usual, everyone introducing themselves, what they were having (boy or girl), and when they were due. We were lucky in the fact that we were skipped over and we didn't have to introduce ourselves. Then the instructor looked at a couple across the room and said, " Well, it looks like you are the winner. You are due June 5th right?" My competitive nature kicked in and of course I couldn't be outdone. I broke our unnoticed stature and said, "Actually, we are due in 6 days".
Then the women gave York a once over, and started glaring. Not because she was due in 6 days...
One man said... "My wife is mad at you."

York in her sweet voice said "Me? Why"

The guy responded, "Because my wife says you look like you are 6 months pregnant".

So, the moral of the story is... A Conard can't let anyone beat them at anything...and in my opinion...my wife is the most beautiful woman in the world.
love you honey.

Funny stuff

I thought I would share with you a funny conversation I overheard with York and our baby. Here is a recap...

Looking down at her bare tummy York says, "You are the size of a watermelon, not a basketball, not a soccer ball, but a HUGE WATERMELON!"
I thought it was really cute, she is so beautiful, but she is feeling really uncomfortable. You can really tell, especially since last night she told our baby..."ok, it is time for you to come out of there."
Another day closer...

Birthday Parties!!!!

We just got back from what seems like every ones birthday celebration! Allie, Trey, York, and Sherri all had a party tonight for their birthdays. I think it is going to get a little crowded once our little one has his birthday also. York is REALLY ready to have him. One minute we are ready to be parents, then the next we realize just how big of a responsibility parenting really is. We are both lucky to have such great role models for raising our child.

Well here is the scoop about the party.
Trey got a 360 razer bike. Really cool thing.
Allie got a little princess baseball bat.
Turns out that Trey liked the bat more at the moment, so Easton took over the bike, Trey took over the bat, and Allie was intent on talking with Dora the Explorer on her toy cell phone. Made me think of Savanna a little about her fixation on cell phones. Kids love them, I see the students at school with them all the time. I confiscate them every once in a while, here them ringing in the hallway.

The party went great, everyone had a good time. Birthday parties are pretty darn fun, especially when you get to see the little kids excitement as they open their gifts. Of course mom couldn't leave easton out, so she got him a present also. She has a big heart, never wanting to leave anyone unhappy.
Don't forget to be checking in on our adventures as parents, who knows maybe we will have a question for you to answer for us.

Kingman Baby Shower

Adam has some wonderful friends in Kingman. Several of them held a shower at the school last week. It was great and we received so many nice things for your little guy! I hadn't met the majority of the women he teaches with so it was wonderful to finally meet them.

Salt Mine

Dad and Savanna came to visit several weeks ago! The Kansas salt mines was one of our adventures. We had a great time and even got to bring home some salt as a memento. We also visited the Zoo - but unfortunately I stink as I lost Dad's camera so I don't have any pictures to share of that adventure. Sorry Dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

39 Weeks

Yikes - 9 days to go until the due date! Were anxiously awaiting the arrival or our little guy but definitely getting nervous about the big day!
